Fox Point Pickling is Rhode Island’s first and only locally made, handcrafted pickle. It all started back in 2014, when Fox Point Pickling’s owner and self-proclaimed Head Pickleteer, Zared “Ziggy” Goldfarb, moved to Rhode Island with his fiancé. He worked in public relations and loved cooking for friends and family as a hobby.
But he didn’t fall into pickling until he purchased a pickling set as a gift for his wife. It was a gift that he actually ended up using himself and an art that he found he really enjoyed. After plenty of experimenting with spices, Ziggy started handing out jars of pickles as to friends, family, and even guests at his wedding. Their honest feedback helped him perfect his pickles.
With a great recipe and the realization that Rhode Island didn’t have a locally made, handcrafted pickle to call its own, Ziggy started his own pickling company. He named after the Fox Point area on the east side of Providence, where he lived at the time.
The popular and delicious Garlic Dill and Spicy Dill Pickles live up to the company motto of “Small State, Big Flavor.” These variations are a staple for the company.
Besides the taste, one of our favorite parts of Fox Point Pickling is that they keep it local by sourcing all of their cucumbers from area farms. It’s also easy to feel good about this delicious snack or side because these pickles are sugar free, fat free, and gluten free, with no additives.
